The LifeSpan Fitness TR200 Fold-N-Stor Compact Treadmill is a bestseller at Amazon and sells for just under $700. It comes fully assembled and folds up to fir into a cupboard or under the bed. The LCD console gives a readout for distance, time, calories burned, steps, incline and speed and quick start button allows you to easily choose incline and speed. There are three incline and three speed programs plus speakers and port for a headphone and heart rate monitor built into the handle grips. It has a top speed of 8mph and a capacity of 250 pounds.

The speakers are not very good, described as tinny. The top speed of 8mph makes it unsuitable for jogging and it is a little heavy for easily storing away.

The Merit Fitness 725T Treadmill sells for just under $400 and has a 1.25hp motor and a top speed of 10mph. It includes 7 programs and a hand contact heart rate monitor. Weight capacity is 250 pounds and it is fitted with the AeroSoft cushioning system for comfort.

LifeSpan Fitness LS-5T Folding Treadmill
The LifeSpan Fitness LS-5T Folding Treadmill sells at Amazon for just under $500 and has a 1.5hp motor with a top speed of 7.5 mph. The LCD console has 5 windows for time, speed, calories, distance, laps and heart rate. There are five programs, a contact sensor built into the handlebars and a maximum weight capacity of 220 pounds. The incline is manually adjusted and has three levels. It is shipped partially assembled and is light. The manually adjusted incline makes the treadmill much lighter than others but is not especially easy to use. Amazon sometimes have sales on this treadmill.
Quote ‘Prefect for power walking or running 8 minute miles or slower, but cannot go any faster. If this is your exercise level, you will find this machine just fine.’ and ‘It is VERY VERY easy to assemble, in about 15 minutes, as it comes partially assembled. Machine weighs less than others, at about 100 pounds compared to 150+; this is another big plus IMO as it does not become the focal point of the room.’
Overall the manual incline is not very well liked BUT it makes the unit much lighter so it’s a trade off with what you need. The top speed is lower than the other treadmills so wouldn’t be good for fast running but if you want to power walk this should be adequate.

Folding treadmills are good if you don’t have the room for a regular treadmill. Some are a little heavy and most don’t have all the features that you will get with a regular treadmill.
